Only a handful of trekkers have managed the whole route. The trek begins from Paro, first making its way past Bhutan’s second highest peak, Mt Chomolhari (23,997ft/7,314m), before crossing numerous high passes, including one which is more than 16,000 ft, to finally arrive at the village of Laya.
